Triton appoints Gordon Watters to Investment Advisory Committee of the Triton Debt Opportunities Fund

London (United Kingdom), 21 March 2018 – Funds advised by Triton ("Triton") are pleased to announce that Gordon Watters will be joining the Triton Debt Opportunities team as an Investment Advisory Committee member. This committee advises the Board of the Fund Manager for the Triton Debt Opportunities Fund I (TDO I) on Fund investment decisions.

Triton has significant experience in investing in debt situations. Since 2009 it has invested in the debt of more than 50 companies. Triton established its first dedicated debt investment vehicle, the Triton Debt Opportunities Fund I, in 2014 with external committed capital of € 500 million. TDO I is an opportunistic credit fund that invests in corporate loans, bonds and other financial obligations, claims, securities, instruments and special situations.  The fund generally seeks to invest in instruments with a view to holding the investment to maturity or another realisation event.

Gordon Watters has over 30 years’ of financing and credit investment experience.  He is well networked and respected across the market and has advised a range of funds that has given him exposure to structured credit, non-performing credit and other strategies. Before joining Triton, he has acted as the Chief Risk Officer and  Senior Advisor to LCM Partners since 2013, a specialty credit investor, focused on NPLs and investing in performing and non-performing retail consumer debt. He has been the chairman of a SME credit investor, Shard Credit Partners, and has sat on the Investment Advisory Committee for another investment firm. Prior to that, as Chief Executive he spearheaded the launch and development of Ares Management in Europe into one of the leading alternative lending providers to Mid Market Corporate Credits. In addition, Gordon was responsible for building out a market leading position as Head of Financial Sponsors Group at Barclays Bank, as well as having held  Senior positions at Credit Lyonnais Securities and Bank of Scotland.
